Happy Wednesday folks!

I am super stoked to publish a free Generalist Guide to Photography. It is posted to the blog page here, or accessible by clicking on the guide’s thumbnail in this post.

I wanted to start building up some resources that tie together the varied and confusing topics in photography. It focuses on some essential concepts, plus some in-the-weeds technical info that can be really helpful in starting on the right foot. It is designed to act as a strong foundation, providing stepping stones toward more in depth self-learning in your sub-genre of interest.

Putting this out for free is important to me; often good, concise information exists as small individual articles & videos online, or behind expensive paywalls. Pursuing photography and art is hard enough without gatekeeping, and while I’ve always been an open book, I wanted to do my part in condensing some of what I’ve picked up over the years.

I’m open to publishing further guides that delve into further advanced generalist topics, or diversify into genre specific guides like landscapes etc. Let me know what YOU are interested in!

The next few newsletters will focus on telling some stories behind the new/current photography pieces I have been displaying lately.

In other news, I am displaying at another Art Market this weekend; the Los Gatos Holiday Market on Dec. 13th/14th, from 10am-5pm.

I only got confirmation to exhibit at this event today, December 10th - so it’s fair to say I’m in a quick scramble to re-prepare my pieces for display!
