About Me
Kyle Murphy
Kyle Murphy | Murph’s Media currently services San Jose, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Monterey. With expertise photographing Portraits, Events, Landscapes, Weddings, and Commercial Projects, I bring a versatile skillset and creative vision. I leverage my visual expertise to consult on business branding, unifying and strengthening brand positions to increase trust and retain interest.
Some personal background: I was born and raised in Shepparton, Australia - a rural agrictural hub outside of Melbourne. I took a leap of faith to study as a first-gen college student at Harvard University, USA, while competing in the Triple Jump & Long Jump in the NCAA. My bones remind me of that often.
I studied History & Science, with a secondary in Energy & Environment. I got to maintain a curious mind while learning to see connections between fields and ideas I never would have found otherwise. The common thread throughout all of this time, however, was in keeping a camera close at hand and learning to see new and old things through different perspectives. I now live in Mountain View, CA.
I began photography around 2014, shooting with a nikon D3100 in a high school class. I quickly found myself pulled toward landscape photography, honing my eye for composition and understanding how to see and shape light. My eye for subjects and theme have slowly shifted over time, and I often find myself exploring perceptual ideas in my landscape work.
Nowadays I have a versatile skillset in photography; ranging from portraits, weddings and events, to commercial images & aerial drone photography. After 10 years of landscape photography, I have finally embarked on the journey to master print-making - creating the final, fully realized versions of my work as archival, fine art prints.
